Magazine organization

I subscribe to alot of magazine. All You, Coastal Living, Renovation Style, BHG, Family Circle, MS Living, Traditional Homes, Woman's Day to name a few. I also have the parenting and family ones. But what do you do with all those magazine that piles up month after month??

I tried to rip the pages that I want to keep and store them in a binder but that didn't work to well. I never remember to put them in the binder, it alway end up piling on my table. So that was no use.

Piles, Piles, Piles.....

It was getting way out of hand, there were just magazine everywhere so what did I do?

I use this nifty thing (my printer, scanning and copier - love it) and scanned all the ideas, recipe, tips and tricks that I wanted to keep and saved it on an external hard drive that I use to store all the family pictures.

Yes, paperless is the way I (the family) is going.

I can actually see the floor and shelves again....

Diaper Cake

One of our friends is going to have a baby this Oct and today was their baby shower. For the past couple of weeks I was searching high and low for ideas on what I can make for them. So what's better than a cake made out of diapers??? My first attempt and I might say I did pretty good.

They are having a boy, but I didn't want to do the traditional blue. So I choose chocolate brown and beige with a hint of yellow and green. Topped it off with ribbons wrapped around some baby powder, baby wash, baby lotion, baby oil and q-tips. I also wrapped receiving blankets on the outside (that's where the green and yellow comes in). Then I made a plaque with the word "Baby" on it with ribbons as ties.

I came across a blog recently "The Idea Room" and this is where I found direction for making bath salt and brown sugar scrub. Check her out she has some amazing idea's.

The diaper cake is for the new baby and mommy deserve a little gift too. They are fun and easy to make.

I had a great day today and is wishing that this little baby bring joy and happiness to their parents.

Plain Glass Vase

Boring and plain glass vase or any glass jar. ( I think this came from a centerpiece I got at a wedding)

Add some ribbon and a bow.

Throw some sharpies, pencils, crayons or flowers.
And you will get :

Not so boring and plain anymore...
