Kitchen redo will be on hold

I have to put my kitchen adventure on hold. I was going to tackle it this week because of the labor day weekend and I was off work for the week, but something unexpected happened and now that has taken most of my time.

Kitchen.... Kitchen.... Kitchen....

So, I finally decided to start redoing my kitchen. You see, I have moved into this house about 6 years ago and moved into a 1960/1970 kitchen. The appliances is yellow... ughhh. Not a pretty sight.

You see the yellow oven and dishwasher.

Well, over the weekend I started cleaning the wall but this is what I found underneath the wall.

Wallpaper, ugly painted wallpaper.

You see the brown and yellow design. Ugly I tell you.

So I started ripping it up and luckily it was so old that it just came right off.

I also took the molding off the doorway. I think I'm just going to leave it the way it is and cover up the wood part up.

I have so much more to do. I'm actually scared that it's going to look horrible after I finish.

Miss Lonely Bench

Miss lonely bench came into our home one year ago from a garage sale. It rained that morning and I didn't know if any of the garage sale was still going to happen. But since the rain ended early we headed out and tried our luck. We visited about 5 sales and this was going to be the last house that we were going to see before we headed home. (kids don't like getting in and out of their car seat a dozen times in one day, They get cranky)

Then I saw miss lonely bench sitting in a corner...

She looked so lonely

She needed a friend

I brought her home for $5. When she came home she was moved from corner to corner and we didn't dress her up right away. She was still lonely for a whole year until today.

She got a wax, a cleaning, touch up and then she got dress.

Hope she looks good.
