Little Sewing chair

This is a little $4.00 sewing chair that I bought at a yard sale recently. Don't you just "love" the yellowish gold fabric cushion. I'm pretty sure you all are jumping for joy and is ready to knock me down to get your hands on this...

Anyway I have been very inspired by some of these blogland ladies out there like Centsational Girl, Life in the Fun Lane, A Soft Place to Land and many more. Yes I and a bloggie Junkie...

With their guidance and their encouragement I did this to the chair.......

My first furniture piece and I think I'm in love.......

Seashell, Seashell....

I wanted to create this project from Cindy at My Romantic Home for a long time. I never got around to do it but I as I was roaming around at the dollar store yesterday I found all the material I needed and what's better to spend so little and create so big.
And this is what I created:
I didn't want to put a bow on top because I like the way how the ribbons hang down so I created a loop on the back with the twine that came with the bag of shells and to cover up the area where I glued I added a small seashell to cover.

The cost:
Seashell 2 bags: $2.00
Foam wreath :$1
Martha Stewart Ribbon (AC Moore sale): $1
Total cost : $4.00

Chairs

The chairs in my dinning room are from Ikea and so far I have been happy with them. (it's the only item from Ikea so far that I'm happy with) It's sturdy enough for my kids to not fall over while wiggly on them and it's plain enough for me... But now I want more... Who doesn't?
Here is the before picture.... yes, yes I know it's lime green.... I though it was a fun color for my kids but they really didn't care much for the color so this is how it looks like now:

much better...

But my mission is to turn my house to look like hers. (o.k not exactly like hers but I use her as inspiration) I love her white theme everything is just so neat and clean. I am done with Ikea and is off to find thrifty Sunday finds to fill my house with style...
