Christmas stockings

I don't have a mantel that I see all over blogland now during the Christmas season. They are so pretty that I drool over it and wished that I had a nice big one. Now, I have to find a creative way to hang my stockings.

I took the spot above my TV and added a board and turned into a makeshift semi mantel. Yes, it's very high up but that's the only place I have room.

And this is what I did to it....added some nails to the board, sparkling snowflakes, the family stockings (which I need to get some new ones, some are alittle beat up)

and tadaa....

It's really simple but I guesse it will do for now.

The kids would get up, surround the christmas tree and and wait for me to get the camera ready and starts digging into their gifts

I want a Silhouette.... Please santa.... I've been a good girl.. 

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?

We would bake homemade cookies and different treats, and make homemade gifts.

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

We never really had a family game when we were growing up. Growing up in a chinese household is so different.

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?

We didn't have much of a christmas or a christmas tree when I was growing up, i mean we did get presents but it might or might nit be wrapped. So, ever since my daughter was born we had a christmas tree, we leave cookie and milk for santa christmas eve and take lots of family pictures of the little monkeys opening gifts.

7. Where would you go for a Christmas/Hanukkah-away-from-home trip?

I would like to take my family to disneyland, my kids has been asking to go for the pass 3 years....

Have you try to tackle more than one room at a time?

Have you ever tried to tackle more than one room at a time? Well, crazy me have been doing that for the pass couple of week. My daughter's bedroom, the living room and my lovely kitchen that was put on hold. (ready to tackle it again)....Yay!!!!

So here is a preview of what have been started so far. 



Prepping the living room for a new coat of paint

My living room was a pale grey boring color for the pass 5 years. When I say boring I mean BORING. There were no life, no joy, no wow factor at all. I have always like the neutral colors because I always thought that it was the safest and easiest to match furniture color. But, when you have 3 crazy kids running around the house you will find all the little hand print and pencil, marker and pen marks all over the house that was put there "by mistake"..... That'a what the kids say...
